TOP 10 Games using 57,5x89mm sleeves

TOP 10 - 57,5x89mm

  1. Chronicles of Crime

Publisher: Lucky Duck Games

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 60-90 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Deduction, Storytelling

Sleeves: MEU 45x68mm, STN 57,5x89mm

A detective game done in a good way. The scanning with the phone is fun and fast (better than searching a thick book with a reference or printing out a deck of cards for each scenario).

  1. Arkham Horror (3rd Ed.)

Publisher: Fantasy Flight Games

Players: 1-6

Playing Time: 120-180 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Modular Board, Dice Rolling

Sleeves: MUS 41x63mm, STN 57,5x89mm, OSDE 102x128mm

I'm a fan of scenario games that tell a story that are replayable. This game offers a lot of combinations that make each scenario replayable even if you know the main gist of it. It's a long game but if played with fewer players, it's a managable project.

  1. Tidal Blades: Heroes of the Reef - Review

Publisher: Druid City Games

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 60-90 minutes

Mechanisms: Dice Rolling, Hand Management, Open Drafting, Worker Placement

Sleeves: MUS 41x63mm, S65 65x65mm, STN 57,5x89mm, BST 70x120mm

Such a beautiful production, with a lot of good choices. Leveling up and trading goods to get better and better at fighting monsters… just lovely.

  1. Concept

Publisher: Repos Production

Players: 4-12

Playing Time: 40 minutes

Mechanisms: Party Game, Team-Based Game, Communication Limits

Sleeves: STN 57,5x89mm

You are giving clues to other players and try them to guess the right words. Clues are given by pointing to the concepts like SMALL + FLIES + YELLOW + BLACK = BEE.

I great party game for all ages.

  1. Hanabi

Publisher: ABACUSSPIELE

Players: 2-5

Playing Time: 25 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Hand Management, Communication Limits

Sleeves: STN 57,5x89mm

Your cards are turned away from you. You can only see other player cards. On your turn you can play one of your cards or give another player a very limited clue.. I cannot recommend this game highly enough. Every house should have this game on their board game shelf.

  1. World of Warcraft: The Boardgame

Publisher: Fantasy Flight Games

Players: 2-6

Playing Time: 180 minutes

Mechanisms: Area Movement, Dice Rolling, Team-Based Game

Sleeves: MUS 41x63mm, STN 57,5x89mm

This game is old.. and you can feel it just by reading the rulebook. But if you are a fan of WOW and you want to get some nice vanilla feeling, there is no better board game out there.

The leveling up in this game is done right. It's one of the best there is. It makes the game go long but the difference between a level 1 character and a level 5 is huge. You really feel like a hero that spent hours leveling up and collecting new gear.

  1. Raising Robots - Review

Publisher: Nauvoo Games

Players: 1-6

Playing Time: 60-90 minutes

Mechanisms: Simultaneous Action Selection, End Game Bonuses, Variable Player Powers

Sleeves: MEU 45x68mm, STN 57,5x89mm

This game is as beautiful as it is interesting. Players create combos from robots that give them resources that will create more combos. Add to this, that you have to read what your opponents' plans are to get some free actions.. and you have a meaty game that won't let you relax for a second.

  1. World of Yo-Ho

Publisher: IELLO

Players: 2-4

Playing Time: 45-90 minutes

Mechanisms: Grid Movement, Variable Player Powers

Sleeves: STN 57,5x89mm

This game is one big gimmick.. but everybody needs such a game in their collection. Pirating around the seas with a phone instead of a wooden miniature? Getting nice graphics when fighting other players or monsters? This game has it all and is easy enough that the gimmick doesn't get in the way of »serious gaming«.

  1. Cthulhu: Death May Die

Publisher: CMON

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 90-120 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Dice Rolling, Scenario Game, Variable Player Powers

Sleeves: STN 57,5x89mm, TOSCD 88x100mm, TBST 70x120,

A massive cooperative game that has plenty of replayability where for each game you combine a scenario + a boss + different characters. With KS exclusives, there is almost unlimited combination.

The game looks just as all other dice fest games from CMON, but this one is much more strategic where you should avoid fights as time is of the essence. Don't worry, there will still be plenty of dice rolling and big bad boss fighting in each game.

  1. Steampunk Rally Fusion - Review

Publisher: Roxley

Players: 2-8

Playing Time: 45-60 minutes

Mechanisms: Closed Drafting, Dice Rolling, Race, Simultaneous Action Selection, Variable Player Powers

Sleeves: STN 57,5x89mm

You will get a lot of dice rolling here, which is against my general taste, but this game allows you to mitigate a lot of rolls and you must really have a personal beef with lady luck that your whole turn would be screwed. Players will build up crazy machines and try to squeeze every meter they can out of it. The racing aspect over a general »Victory Point«  goal adds just a bit more to this game that puts it in the TOP 3 of my collection.
