Playing Time: 30-60 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Deck Building, Variable Player Powers

A good deck builder that it's a great fit for any Harry Potter fan that likes games. The game is simple and quick so it should be a great fit for families.

You can really feel like you are fighting off the bad guys of the books/movies.

  1. Lords of Hellas

Publisher: Awaken Realms

Playing Time: 60-90 minutes

Mechanisms: Area Majority, Dice Rolling, Hand Management

Sleeves: MEU 45x68mm, TCG 63,5x88mm, OSKB 102x152mm

This game looks epic and feels epic. Players can fight for area majority or go on quests around Ancient Greece… There is many interesting ways to win the game.

The techno-mythological mix is a very interesting combination as well.

  1. The Mind

Publisher: NSV

Players: 2-4

Playing Time: 20 minutes

Mechanisms: Communication Limits, Cooperative Game

Sleeves: EUR 59x92mm

This game is something special that shouldn't work…but it does. Players try to play their cards from lowest to highest, on the table on a single deck. You cannot talk with others so you can only follow your instinct if it's your turn or not.

  1. Happy Salmon

Publisher: NorthStar Game Studio

Players: 3-8

Playing Time: 2 minutes

Mechanisms: Simultaneous Action Selection

I heard only bad things from gamers about this one. So I was avoiding it for a long time. What a mistake.

This game is fun if you have players that can relax a bit and have some laughs. We played it with kids, with gamers, with family and everybody loved it.

  1. Marvel United

Publisher: CMON

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 40 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Hand Management, Variable Player Powers

Sleeves: TCG 63,5x88mm,

This is a cooperative game with a very easy rule set… which can make you think that the game is very easy. It can be, but with so many expansions there are bosses that will need a few tries and some specific combination of heroes.

It's not a game that is played all the time but when it hits the table, it always stays for some 3-4 plays at least as it is so quick and players want to try new heroes and new villains.

  1. World of Warcraft: The Boardgame

Publisher: Fantasy Flight Games

Players: 2-6

Playing Time: 180 minutes

Mechanisms: Area Movement, Dice Rolling, Team-Based Game

Sleeves: MUS 41x63mm, STN 57,5x89mm

This game is old.. and you can feel it just by reading the rulebook. But if you are a fan of WOW and you want to get some nice vanilla feeling, there is no better board game out there.

The leveling up in this game is done right. It's one of the best there is. It makes the game go long but the difference between a level 1 character and a level 5 is huge. You really feel like a hero that spent hours leveling up and collecting new gear.

  1. The Red Cathedral

Publisher: Devir

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 80 minutes

Mechanisms: Area Majority, Contracts, Rondel

Sleeves: MEU 45x68mm

I couldn't belive that such a small box can contain so much game. I love big productions.. but I would trade many big boxes for such a meaty game.

Every decision matters... a big game in a small box. Buidling cathedrals was never this fun.

  1. Raising Robots

Publisher: Nauvoo Games

Players: 1-6

Playing Time: 60-90 minutes

Mechanisms: Simultaneous Action Selection, End Game Bonuses, Variable Player Powers

Sleeves: MEU 45x68mm, STN 57,5x89mm

This game is as beautiful as it is interesting. Players create combos from robots that give them resources that will create more combos. Add to this, that you have to read what your opponents' plans are to get some free actions.. and you have a meaty game that won't let you relax for a second.

  1. Trudvang Legends

Publisher: CMON

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 60 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Bag Building, Campaign Game

Sleeves: S70 70x70mm

A massive cooperative story telling game that kept us playing each weekend for months. I never saw my wife so invested in a game as this one. The story is great, the decisions matter and the gameplay is interesting.

  1. The Quacks of Quedlinburg

Publisher: Schmidt Spiele

Players: 2-4

Playing Time: 45 minutes

Mechanisms: Bag Building, Push your Luck,

Sleeves: USA 56x87mm

Push your luck at it's best. You have the fate in your hands… but will you listen to the math or will you ask lady luck for one more favor (probably the 10th this game already)? There will be a lot of cursing and laughter at the same table.. just on the different sides of it.
