TOP Games of All Time (2024) 50-41

TOP 50 - 41

  1. FUSE

Publisher: Renegade Game Studios

Players: 1-5

Playing Time: 10 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Dice Rolling, Real-Time

Sleeves: TCG 63,5x88mm

A real-time craziness. This game is frantic and chaotic, but it's also short enough that you get a good spike of emotions while not getting tired. Rolling dice, trying to talk with other players, collecting sets.. all this at the same time that other players are doing the same.. such a fun mess.

  1. Istanbul: The Dice Game

Publisher: Pegasus Spiele

Players: 2-4

Playing Time: 20-40 minutes

Mechanisms: Dice Rolling, Set Collection

Sleeves: MED 43x67mm, BEU 80x120mm

A simple dice rolling game of collecting resources to exchange them for points. It's quick enough that it keeps players enganged. I always try to push this game to the table if we need to spend 30 mins without spending too much brain power.

  1. Blitzkrieg!: World War Two in 20 Minutes

Publisher: Matagot

Players: 2

Playing Time: 20-45 minutes

Mechanisms: Bag Building, Area Majority, Tug of War

I don't like tug of war games because usually they provide you with too many options at one time just to make them more »interesting and complex«. This game has just enough options that you have good choices all the time but not too many so that you feel overwhelmed. We played it plenty of times and each game has been different and always on the edge.

  1. Diamant

Publisher: IELLO

Players: 3-8

Playing Time: 30 minutes

Mechanisms: Push Your Luck, Simultaneous Action Selection

Sleeves: S70 70x70mm, TCG 63,5x88mm

Our go to party game. The simple ruleset will get everyone involved.. from the little ones to the grandmas. Everybody that plays this game, loves it because even if you bust, you can still try to convince your opponents into making a similar mistake.

  1. Pandemic Legacy: Season 1

Publisher: Z-Man Games

Players: 2-4

Playing Time: 60 minutes

Mechanisms: Cooperative Game, Legacy Game, Action Point, Hand Management

Sleeves: TCG 63,5x88mm, OSRB 88x125mm

This spot is for the whole Pandemic Legacy series. I cannot replay Pandemic too much because once I win a coop game, I don't need to play it anymore. Legacy mechanism changed that completly. Each game is a new scenario with new problems to solve. A really good series that is totally worth the money investment.

  1. Darwin's Journey

Publisher: ThunderGryph Games

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 60-120 minutes

Mechanisms: Worker Placement, Set Collection, Contracts

Sleeves: EUR 59x92mm

This is a hard game with tons of choices. A rare game that caused me some serious AP problems. The theme is very interesting and well implemented. This worker placement is for the hardcore gamers.

  1. Dog Park

Publisher: Birdwood Games

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 40-80 minutes

Mechanisms: Auction/Bidding, Set Collection, Track Movement

Sleeves: MEV 44x63mm, TCG 63,5x88mm

I didn't expect much from a dog walking game. I was wrong. The auctioning and comboing of different dogs that have to be taken out for a walk to give you bonuses and end game points is fun and interesting. Managing the resources and happiness of the dogs in relaxing and hard at the same time.

  1. Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar

Publisher: Czech Games Edition

Players: 2-4

Playing Time: 90 minutes

Mechanisms: Worker Placement, End Game Bonuses, Turn Order: Claim Action

I was blown away when I first played this game. Placing your workers on spaces that with time get better and then taking them back to get the action. I didn't think it was possible to plan so much in advance but it actually works. A really great worker placement game.

  1. Allegiance: A Realm Divided

Publisher: Underground Games Inc.

Players: 2-4

Playing Time: 30-60 minutes

Mechanisms: Duel Game, Hand Management, Action Points

Sleeves: TCG 63,5x88mm

This is the best option that I found to save some money by not playing Magic: The Gathering, but still get that itch scratched. Both players draw from the same decks of creatures, actions… which would be a boring luck based game. That's why each player has a different hero with a totally different game plays. From heroes that like big armies, to heroes that drain life from the opponents etc. A lot of gameplay in this one box.

  1. Sagrada

Publisher: Floodgate Games

Players: 1-4

Playing Time: 30-45 minutes

Mechanisms: End Game Bonuses, Open Drafting, Grid Coverage

Sleeves: TCG 63,5x88mm

One of the most colorful games our there. If you like a bit of logical thinking and planing ahead, this game is easy to teach and quick to play. A great game for gamers and non gamers alike.
